This is a phpBB 2.0.23 forum. A Russian man (@mail.ru) registered and posted a blank topic. However, I've already disallowed any registration!
I've deleted his account and topic. I still wonder, how can he register? |

Oops.
I took the meaning of "none" wrongly. |

What do you mean?
By the way, I love the template, are you it's creator? _________________ phpBB2 will never die, I hope! |

He put "Who will activate new accounts None/ User/ Admin" to "None", thinking that nobody will be able to register anymore. But that is for no activation.
@ Meow: What you need is this:
Disable Registration
This hack allows you to disable registrations to your phpBB, manageable in the ACP. You can set an explanation that appears to the users that would want to register. _________________ Image link

I am female.
prosilver & prosilver Special Edition are surely made by subBlue & phpBB.com, and what I did is only modifying them. They became phpBB2 styles. |

You can also simply disallow any name to be valid on registration.
In your ACP -->> User Administration --> Disable usernames --> place an asterix * in the forbidden username textbox and that's it, nobody will be able to register.
You did a very nice job on the style, it's a pity that I will not be able to use because of the huge amount of modifications I have installed. _________________ phpBB2 will never die, I hope! |

Ha what a simple resolution!
They are only templates, and people don't need to edit the core of phpBB2 for it. |

Easier is impossible!
I know I donīt need to edit the core but I have many modifications installed that also modify the templates and I will not be able to reproduce all those edits correctly in your template. _________________ phpBB2 will never die, I hope! |

The structure of prosilver is different from subSilver's. But you could still handle it if you want to spend time. |

Oh yes, I understand that it would be possible for me, but it would be a big lot of work, many many hours to get it all right.
I'm not able to dedicate such an effort to my template. _________________ phpBB2 will never die, I hope! |

You can find Meows thread on phpbb.com here:

I have used her template and she did a very nice job on it. It's really VERY good. She has paid very close attention to details.
It looks exactly like Prosilver but since its phpbb2 it has a much better ACP Image link

Someone said there is an issue of it on IE6, but I cannot test on IE6 at all. I don't use Windows. |

FWIW, my Page Permissions MOD will also allow you to enable / disable registration as well as any other individual page on the board if you want. You can even set up custom messages for each page.
I have a computer with IE6 on it and can test the style and report issues if you like. However, IE6 has issues with prosilver on phpBB3, so it would not surprise me to find out some of those issues carried over to phpBB2. _________________ phpBBDoctor Blog |
