Post subject: Upgrading to v3?

I'm running php2 right now and want to upgrade to v3. Honestly - I'm not sure how to do that. I'm very new to running this board and just took over from someone who knew alot more than I do. Is there an easy way to upgrade an existing board? We have no Mods installed. Thanks!

There is a conversion process used to switch from 2.x to 3.x. You can get support and help with this process at the regular site at www.phpbb.com if you want. The purpose of this site is more geared towards those staying on phpBB2. icon_smile.gif

If you have no MODs, it should be a fairly easy process.

Be careful and research it before you change to phpbb3. For me it was a very big letdown.. I eventually converted it back to phpbb2..

My website may be the earliest phpBB3 forum in Taiwan.

It's not impossible to research it.

Start a free board on any host that has phphh3 running and have a look at what your getting into before you upgrade.

When converting to phpBB3 all tables for phpBB2 remains. phpBB3 makes a copy during the conversion.
So, after converting you try phpBB3 and you dont like it, just switch the URL back to phpBB2.
