When you type in my site's domain, it takes you to a page that just says /directory/ and /world/. They're both links, and the "/world/" one takes you to the actual forums.

I want to edit this part of the site to make it an actual, concise page. However, I've looked and looked and can't find where I need to go to edit it. D:

If I can't edit this file, could you at least tell me how I could work it so that when you just type in the basic domain, it automatically takes you to the forums instead of that page?

There are a few different ways to do that.

You could use a small index.html file with a meta-redirect

or you could use a PHP redirect:
Code:

<?
Header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" );
Header( "Location: http://www.ascaria.com/world/" );
?>

or you could use a .htaccess redirect (also known as mod_rewrite).

Of course another alternative if you have a hosting control panel (cpanel) is to add a redirect from there.
I am not sure but think that might write to the .htaccess file

Making an index page could be good if you want to welcome your users and explain what's on your site before letting them go to the forum. Such a file has to be named index, I think the main extensions are checked in this order for priority : htm, html, php...

Otherwise the .htaccess redirect will be more seemless than a META or PHP one, I think?
