Post subject: trouble aligning multiple tables

Hi,

I have done an extensive search online in trying to resolve my problem in aligning multiple tables.

I would like to be able to align my tables that way auction forum has theirs lined up:

Link to their site.

but instead my tables are showing as the following:

Link to mine.

I've read through the CSS, DIV's and auto align suggestions but haven't been able to make them work for me.

Thank you,

-R.

Have a look at the source code of both sites and compare yours with the other, for a start.

Holy cow you have all your columns all screwed up. You should just start over. To tell you the truth you should probably start with a premade template and build on that.

I think you can find one here:
Portal pages

It would just be easier then trying to fix what you have. There are tags and stuff all scattered in that page code. In fact there are open script tags even.

Forum Nut has a lot of different premade layouts you can just cut and paste your boxes right in. The columns are already setup for you.

I was going to try to fix it for you but it would just be easier to start over. It looks like you are just trying to force tables into new columns bu using a bunch of <br> tags instead of creating proper columns.

I've done that already and the difference I've noticed is they used "<br>" between their tables and while that works for me on the tables to the left it pushes my larger tables that are on the right downward creating the gap that we see.

The <br> they are using is to place a space between their tables not to align them into columns. icon_wink.gif

This is what you are trying to do. and its all premade for you.

Cowboy, I removed all my old table mods manually and started adding the tables the way they are written on the site you linked me to. Although it's aligned my tables properly, I've encountered a new problem.

There is now a "Poker link" at the top of my web page:

Image link

Do you think this is my doing or could someone have hacked onto my forum and put it there? I can't find the html script in my index_body.template where I'm making the changes.

The strange thing is, it doesn't show up on the computer I'm working on but shows up when I use my laptop.

Thank you,

R.

**Nevermind, I've solved the problem. I must've copied that extra link.

Thanks again!

LOL, it happens icon_biggrin.gif

So are you all sorted out now?

Edit: Oh WOW yea that's much better. Image link

The way Forum Nut sets up those pages it makes it really easy to understand where you are working in the pages doesn't it? icon_biggrin.gif

Hi again, Cowboy.

It's really starting to take shape, I worked on the left and centre columns yesterday and today I've managed to get the right column put in.

The only issue I'm having is that the gap between the right and left boxes from the centre boxes are not equal.

Would you by any chance know what is causing this?

I see those gaps equal, both in Firefox and in Internet Explorer.
Did you change anything since you asked your last question?

I saw Forum Nut fix that for him over on his board already. He had an extra table open tag. A copy and paste error. He's got it all fixed now.

Yes, it's definitely all fixed now. Thanks guys for your help and direction - it's made a huge difference in the appearance of my forum.

Just adding content into the boxes now icon_biggrin.gif .
