Hiya there
I want to hide the part that says who the latest member is, partly to avoid the "buyviagraonline" type would be members [I havent put on an anti spam user thing yet]
can anyone suggest how to do this, prefer something that easymod can do
I have tried searching, but I find it hard to search as the description amounts to too many words, if you know what I mean
Many thanks

You just want to remove this from the forum front page so it doesn't display for users?
If so I will write some instructions on this later. Currently my linux box is in pieces as I am testing things out. |

Open /templates/subSilver/index_body.tpl
Find
Code: | <br />{NEWEST_USER} |
Delete this code.
Save file.
Refresh the cache - don't delete .htaccess or index.html in the cache folder when doing this.
This should not then remove the newest user from displaying on the main page. |

Ok thanks Robert!
Will need to setup a phpBB 2 board somewhere for me to refer to when needed.
I did all that with only looking at the files without having the board setup. |

yep,
remember that phpbb2 does not use the cache at all unless someone has specifically set it all up to do so.
personally, I think the cache in phpbb3 is way too much trouble unless your site is huge.
