You should have received that email by now.
Assuming that you have still not got it then the problem is not with your board but with the hosts server PHP sendmail function.

Submit a support ticket telling them that the PHP sendmail is not working.
They can not argue that it is phpBB2 install as we have just tested it externally with that script.

It is out of your control and must be dealt with by your host.
It is not uncommon for this sort of thing to happen and usually just requires a restart of the server.
At least now you know it is not your board as the script was totally separate from it.

First you could try smtp with the following settings.
Go to your Admin CP>>general admin>>configuration and near the bottom of the page is an option to select smtp instead of PHP sendmail.
Do this and use the following:-
Username >> leave it blank
Password >> leave it blank.

This is often correct (has been with the last 2 or 3 hosts I have had) but now you go and test by sending yourself a PM and seeing if you get the email notifier.

If you get an error message then you get back on to your host and ask them what to enter for username and password in those places.

Ask them for the info that needs to go into those spaces.

It may be your domain name for the first, your account username for the second and your password for the last.
Try that first and if it fails you must ask them.
Your domain does not include http://
