Post subject: Template->loadfile(): No file specified for handle phpBB_

Hi everybody

I have run into a very strange problem which I cannot seem to find a solution to. Maybe some of you have met similar problems and know of a way to fix it.

The thing is that our webhost decided to make a security upgrade on their servers some days ago. This meant that all passwords had to be changed to more complex ones. Fair enough, did so, no problems with that.

However, after the upgrade, our board no longer works. Opening the forum in any way just gives the following output:

Template->loadfile(): No file specified for handle phpBB_definitions

I have not changed any code in any way. I have not changed any files, and everything appears to be intact on the server.

Can it have something to do with an upgrade of the PHP version on the server? (I am not sure they also did this, but current version is PHP Version 5.2.13).

You may suggest to upgrade to phpBB 3, but the thing is that the whole login system on our side is based on the code of phpBB 2, and to the best of my knowledge, this code has all been changed not to mention the way templates are built etc. (I have implemented a personally built design fitting the rest of the site + implemented some custom made things in the forum, and all this will obviously be lost by upgrading).

In short, I would be a very happy man, if someone had an idea to solve the problem.

For your information, our site is hosted with Bluehost.com in USA.

A direct link to visualize the problem is found here:

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Is phpBB_definitions part of a MOD that you know of?
