Someone please make some of the active people here Moderators. Or at least just give them privileges to move threads into a forum only admins/mods can see so they can deal with it when they come online.

These kinds of things can only get worse.

I'm getting pretty fed up with this situation, this board is not being attended at all, I stopped reporting spam posts because it seemed useless, no action has been taken ever.

Three days ago I filled out a contact form proposing something along the lines you are saying, no answer yet.

And it's not that our Admin is not online, he's posting on an apparently daily basis on BOB.

I don't know what to think of this, are we being part of a kind of a honeypot experiment, has the Admin abandoned the board for some unknown reason?

If things don't change quickly I will stop visiting this board.

I have just decided to remove phpbbrefugees from my bookmarks, I'm fed up with the facts that I have to face more spam than anything else and the feeling of total abandonment I have as a visitor of this board.

I'm sorry, I have been a happy user of this board for quite some time, hopefully things will get better here but for the moment I prefer to go and spend my time elsewhere.

Greetings! icon_cry.gif

I too am getting tired of reporting spam posts and sending contact forms to no avail.
I had great hopes that this board was going to be the answer for all us phpBB2 refugees but looks as though I was wrong.
There seems to be no moderators at all and lately management must not have visited.
I think it is what you call abandoned.
Does anyone know of another site for phpBB2 refugees as I see little point in keep coming back to all this rubbish on a daily basis.
Incidentally Dogs I doubt that Jelly or James will read your posts as they are undoubtedly scripts doing the posting once registration was completed.

You can see if the ADR board is to your liking.

It's mostly dedicated to the ADR Mod for phpBB2, but I've posted some generic problems there and gotten answers.

They do have a (semi)active staff.

I stick to phpbbhacks.com,

It is a decently managed board still dedicated in part to phpBB2.

Hope to read you there now and again.

My guess: A staff member did it, but didn't post here because he was embarrassed.

I mean, I want this site to succeed. I remember the admin here making a lot of useful, helpful posts on phpBB.com. The site just needs a more active staff than 1 person.

I think Jim_UK can be a moderator. If he wants to. icon_wink.gif

I don't know what happened to Dave. I had a phpbb2 support site starting up when he started this one. He asked me if we could combine them under his name and I said sure. I took mine down and lost the domain name.

I would be willing to start another one if others would be willing to move over there and try to get the word out.

I won't go back to phpbbhacks.com because I do not like patrick's policy of just deleting posts he does not like.
After he did it to me several times, I just politely told him I could agree with his policy and left.
He certainly has the right to set whatever policies he likes and enforce them any way he sees fit. I just won't go back there.

anyway, if anyone is interested, I am.

Any why is that? He used to be a helpful, supportive member. Don't be so harsh on him. For all we know he could have had serious, real-life issues arise.

Don't be so quick to judge. icon_confused.gif

I DO miss Dave, I have always considered him a very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful person.

Without him I don´t think I would have been feeling so at home here from the start.

I wish I knew what's up with this site, why are things as they are? icon_cry.gif
