You can use phpMyAdmin to create an index, or you can do it directly with SQL statements.
Code:
create index topic_last_post_id on phpbb_topics(topic_last_post_id)

The last post is used to retrieve the date/time of the last post as well as the last poster name. On a standard phpBB2 board those fields are displayed on the index page.

MySQL Create Index syntax

Ups! SORRY!
I optimized much of the code last week. Forgot about this!

Can I destroy something when creating the index?
I am not showing anything like last poster or last post time or such on my index:

Creating an index on the database should not impact the information displayed on your screen. It doesn't change the code.
