Hi, thanks a lot!
I am still using the old version. The forums had to be added manually in the code. Will your version list the forums automatically?

No, you still have to go into the settings in one of the files and list the forums you want to be accessible with the togo version. It's a no brainer really.. Just go to your forums main page and hover over the list of forums and note the numbers. Add them to the list:
1,4,6,10,15 [etc]

Hello... I would like to see how this phpbb2go mod in action...
is there any site I can see (as a demo) to see how it really shows up? Can I see the mobile version also on a normal computer browser?
if I connect to my forum with one of those supported phones... (android & co.) the switch to the mobile board will be done automatically?

Hi Dondino,
You can install Opera Mobile Emulator on your PC, install phpbbtogo on your forum and see it all for yourself.

hey, thanks for the tip! very useful that mobile emulator!
but before doing all the job on my heavy-modded board... do you have any link to a forum which uses the phppb2go 1.2.2 for me to see before try? I guess it uses a separate template... which should be the same for anyone using phpbb2go mod?
I have extreme styles mod installed... I dont know if its compatible...

See the MOD install instructions, you don`t need to modify any existing files.

Yes mine is not live so not much content, but you are welcome to see
http://www.beautytech.com/test
hit that from the browser and you get the full site, hit it from your cell and you should get the mobile site
The entire mobile is stand alone and you make no changes to the rest of your forum at all, maybe add the link if they have an older or unrecognized cell or maybe a small tablet. You can see the "Mobile Lite" link on my full page

dondino, thanks.. I'm sing phpBBFullyModded and once complete the entire site will be contained (and deeply trimmed) from its former self
You will see in the togo pages the tweaks I did.. I tried to make note of what changes, colors, the little logo etc in the read me.. so make sure you look that over before you begin.. but in all honesty, you should be able to simply change the logo to your own and ive right in..

I checked the author's original forum and saw that she now converted to *myBB* so I guess you have no hopes anymore to find any support over this
I noticed recently that some old fellow phpbb2 fans are now leaving phpbb2
even the good Holger passed to phpbb3 in his massive forum..... !!
its a pity but an inevitable conclusion almost in 2014...

Well, more and more parts will be breaking with PHP updates and other technologies. PHPBB2 may have been the best in its time, but I think most of us kept using it mostly because of the heavy customization we've made. At some point even that stops weighing enough in the balance versus the work needed to keep it working and other forum options. I don't think loyalty to a deprecated piece of software does anyone any good - we have to use what's best for our projects.
