Seconded. In my early 20s as well, and I can't figure out what the what is going on in phpBB3's mazes (permissions, modules, yada yada yada)

Yup ya got that right buddy!!!!!

VB3.x and lower ARE THE BEST! (I still know some sites running VB 2.x)

http://forums.beyond.ca is one (2.3.9)
www.asylumnation.com/asylum?styleid=4 is another (2.2.8)
www.killermovies.com/forums (This has parts of 3 and parts of 2 (And the PHPBB2 default skin icon),im not sure what version they are running icon_biggrin.gif)

are you sure you are in the right place? this site is about phpbb2 all three of those sites you linked to are vb boards, and you even say vb in your post.

what does any of that have to do with phpbb?

I think, he refers to my post on page 1, where I gave explanation on which older software to use if I had to select a specific vendor/developer.

Personally, I would just use phpbb3. It is mobile friendly, and much more modern.

If I were starting a new board today, then yes, I would use the newer version.
