Post subject: Google - Bing and limiting sessions in PHPBB2

As many of you may have noticed - Google and Bing when crawling your site creates 10's to 100's of separate sessions which can quickly result in the sessions table having over 100,000 rows or more.

There of course are mods for sessions.php that can limit sessions per IP, etc as well as basic scripts to truncate the sessions table from time to time.

A couple of questions based off of admin's experience here

1. At what number of sessions in the sessions table (presuming you are running HEAP on your sessions table) do you begin to experience a measurable slowdown of your board

2. Do you use some sort of session limiting script? If so, what solution do you use?

3. Do you feel that limiting sessions can have any negative effect of crawling by Search Engines such as Google or Bing?

4 Do you feel that by limiting sessions there are any other adverse effects as opposed to not limiting sessions per the original sessions.php code?

Thanks
